Railways ( Traction Applications ) :
In the Rail transport sector Zeonics Systech is manufacturing and supplying capacitors for main line locomotive and
light Rail Systems.
Zeonics Systech has supplied Traction Capacitors for Diesel Electric Locomotives.
In 1995 Zeonics Systech has set up Sophisticated R & D focused on the Railway
buisness in order to compete with Global giants and cover main lines, suburban & urban
transport.
Zeonics Systech's Capacitors are used in locomotives ( Rolling Stock ) for several
applications including :-
a) SUPPRESSION CAPACITORS : When Silicon Control Rectifiers are used in a
chopper design of locomotives, capacitors are used for suppression or reducing the spikes
on the device (SCR) to improve the reliability of the SCR. In the absence of suppression
circuits the SCR may be susceptible to failure, because of voltage breakdown in the
device. We also supply suppression capacitors with built-in resistor like a RC
Network so that the customer has to just specify the resistor value and the capacitor
value for the RC Block.
b) SNUBBER / COMMUTATION CAPACITORS : In most SCR inverter designs, it is
required to turn off the SCR during the non-conducting mode to enable the SCR to fire more
rapidly. Normally the SCR is turned off by discharging the capacitor into the SCR with a
reverse polarity and hence normally commutation capacitors are high current, high DV / DT
and high value capacitors. We manufacture most of the commutation capacitors
required by the Silicon Control Rectifier Inverter Industry.
c) HIGH SPEED TRANSPORT LOCOMOTIVES : All over the world, Railways
are switching over the High speed Locomotives which require high frequency inverter
designs at higher level of currents with high reliability and tough working environment.
We manufacture capacitors in steel enclosures with suitable insulators which would qualify
for high vibration duty and which could be used in these locomotives which are now
being introduced into the Country. The special features of these capacitors are that
their current demand graphs are very pulsative in nature and hence give a lot of stress to
the Dielectric within the capacitor. |
