Special Purpose Capacitors
STEEL MILLS
Zeonics Systech Capacitors are used in
radio frequency circuits for smelting, melting, hardening, surface treatment, case
hardening , surface Heating, annealing and various other purposes, where heat is required
within a short time in a controlled form.
These capacitors are used in several circuits when used in a conjunction with a triode,
tetrode, pentode valves. Essentially these are used under the following sub division :-
a) DC CIRCUITS : These capacitors are used in high voltage filter
circuits for filtration of 50 Hz so that a good quality direct current is available for
the valves.
b) ANODE CIRCUITS : These capacitors are used in anode circuit for
blocking the DC voltage from the anode to the tank circuit i.e., once the DC voltage and
the Rf voltage is available at the anode then by using the capacitor the DC voltage can be
blocked allowing the Rf current to flow through, which is coupled to the tuned L/C
resonant circuit for giving maximum out put in load match condition. These
capacitors are called Anode Blocking Capacitors or Anode Bypass Capacitors, ( also known
as Blockers).
c) GRID CIRCUITS : Every valve has a grid, and capacitor are used for
different applications in the grid i.e., for Rf bypass and grid. Grid bypass resistor
capacitor combinations and grid earth leakage capacitors are used. These capacitors
have several different applications where in one condition the capacitor is used for
allowing Rf to go inside the grid and in another condition the capacitor is used in a very
small value to avoid spikes to the generator in the grid. For the safety of the grid,
Bypass capacitors are also used.
d) FILAMENT AND CATHODE BYPASS CAPACITORS: These capacitors are used for
the safety of the filament, for the safety of cathode and are also used in different
combinations depending upon the specific design features of the oscillator in conjunction
with the valve specifications.
e) MEDIUM FREQUENCY HEATING : Since the frequencies are lower
compared to Rf frequency the capacitor value used are large but the voltages involved are
lower and hence lower voltage capacitor can be used with largerKVAR casings. We
manufacture capacitors for these applications both in Air Cooled and Water Cooled versions
and depending upon the applications we can design the correct capacitor tapping.
LOW FREQUENCY HEATING : In low Frequency Heating applications the
capacitors are used for total harmonic distortion filters or also used for matching all
inductor loads with their respective capacitance. These capacitors are individually
designed in larger containers and could have high current fuse direction also. |
